Frequently Asked Questions
How do you calculate CPM?⌄
CPM (cost per mille) is the cost of 1,000 impressions: total cost ÷ impressions × 1,000. Spending 1,500 for 250,000 impressions is a CPM of 6.00.
How do you calculate CPC and CTR?⌄
CPC (cost per click) is total cost ÷ clicks. CTR (click-through rate) is clicks ÷ impressions, shown as a percentage. They're linked: CPC equals CPM ÷ (CTR × 1,000), so a higher CTR lowers your cost per click at the same CPM.
Should I compare campaigns by CPM or CPC?⌄
It depends on the goal. CPM is the fairer measure for awareness campaigns paid by impression; CPC matters when you want traffic. For sales or leads, cost per conversion is what counts, because cheap clicks that don't convert aren't a bargain.
Where do the planning estimates come from?⌄
Only from the CPM and CTR you enter, so they're as good as those inputs. Your own past campaigns on the same platform and audience are the best source; actual delivery also depends on bidding, targeting and competition.
