Frequently Asked Questions
What is schema markup?⌄
Structured data written in the schema.org vocabulary that tells search engines what a page is about: a business with an address, a product with a price, an article with an author. JSON-LD, the format this tool produces, is the one Google recommends.
Where do I put the JSON-LD code?⌄
Paste the whole script block into the page's HTML, in the head or the body. On WordPress, an SEO plugin or a header-scripts plugin can insert it; most site builders have a custom-code field per page.
Will schema markup get me rich results?⌄
It makes a page eligible for the rich results Google supports, not guaranteed. Google decides when to show them, and the markup has to match content visible on the page. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in May 2026, though FAQ markup is still valid structured data that other search engines and tools can read.
How do I check that the markup works?⌄
Run the page through Google's Rich Results Test for the types Google supports, or the Schema Markup Validator at validator.schema.org for any schema.org type, including FAQ pages. After publishing, the Enhancements reports in Google Search Console show errors across your whole site.
Is my data sent anywhere?⌄
No. The code is generated in your browser and nothing you type is sent to our servers.
