Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
This policy explains what information SEM Solutions (semsolutions.net) handles when you use the site. The site is operated by Search Enabled Marketing Solutions, which is responsible for your information. In short: there are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no advertising cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, but only if you accept analytics cookies.
Information we handle
- Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information when you load a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. It's used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors.
- Messages you send us. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you chose and whatever you write, plus your IP address to prevent abuse. The message reaches us by email, and we use it only to reply and to handle your request. To check that a person is sending the form, it uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical information about your browser and connection for that purpose only.
- Searches. Site search runs in your browser. If you open the full search results page, your search terms appear in the page address and so in server logs.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics (only with your consent). When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookies are set unless you click Accept. If you do, Google Analytics 4 records how the site is used: pages viewed, the referring page, approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address), device and browser type, and interactions such as scrolling and clicks on outbound links. Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses, and we have turned off Google signals and ad personalization, so this data isn't used for advertising. We use it in aggregate to see which pages are useful and what to improve.
Google Analytics sets two cookies: _ga and _ga_<ID>, which tell visits apart and last up to two years. Google processes this data as our service provider under its data processing terms. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; when you do, we stop loading Google Analytics and delete its cookies from your browser. You can also use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Your consent choice. We remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics in your browser's local storage, so we don't ask again on every page. It isn't a cookie and isn't sent to us. We don't use advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking tools.
When you follow a link to a software vendor's website, that site may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
How we use information
To run and secure the site, fix problems, answer your messages and, if you consent to analytics, understand which pages are used so we can improve them. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't use it for advertising profiles.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that run the site for us, who process it on our behalf: our hosting provider, our email provider, Cloudflare (the security check on the contact form) and, if you accept analytics cookies, Google (Google Analytics). We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the site and its users from abuse.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted by the hosting provider. Google Analytics data linked to the analytics cookies is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (at most 14 months), then deleted automatically; aggregated reports with no personal information may be kept longer. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your message and keep a record of the conversation; you can ask us to delete them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or California), you can ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask for a copy. Contact us through our contact form and we'll respond within the time the law requires. We don't sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards they provide: Google, for example, is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) and also offers standard contractual clauses.
Children
SEM Solutions is for business and professional use and isn't directed at children under 16.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date above.
