Frequently Asked Questions
What are Open Graph tags?⌄
Meta tags in a page's <head> (og:title, og:description, og:image and others) that tell Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack and most messaging apps what title, text and image to show when someone shares the link. X reads its own twitter: tags first and falls back to Open Graph.
What size should a share image be?⌄
1200 × 630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio) works across Facebook, LinkedIn and X. Keep text and logos away from the edges, because some placements crop the image, and keep the file under a few megabytes so platforms fetch it reliably.
I changed my tags but the old preview still shows. Why?⌄
Platforms cache link previews. Ask them to fetch the page again with Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector; X refreshes its cache on its own over time.
Why doesn't this tool read the tags from my URL?⌄
It runs entirely in your browser, so it can't fetch other websites. That also means you can preview tags for a page before it's published. Paste the values you plan to use, or copy them from your page's source.
