What Is Elementor?

Elementor is a WordPress plugin that replaces the default editing screen with a drag-and-drop visual editor built from widgets. The free plugin covers the core editor and basic widgets; Editor Pro adds Theme Builder for site-wide templates, dynamic content, custom CSS and a form builder. The WooCommerce Builder lets store owners lay out product, archive, cart, checkout, account and purchase-summary pages visually, and the Popup Builder can open a popup on page load, scroll, click, inactivity, exit intent or when a visitor reaches a set element, with rules for visit frequency, referral source, device, browser and login status. Form submissions can flow to Mailchimp, HubSpot and ActiveCampaign. Pro plans are sold by site count, from Essential through Advanced Solo, Advanced and Expert, and Elementor One bundles the Pro features with AI generation, image optimization, accessibility tools and cookie consent on a monthly credit allowance.

Best for: Freelancers and agencies that build WordPress and WooCommerce sites visually and want templates, popups and forms inside one plugin.

Elementor’s Theme Builder assigns headers, footers and post templates through inclusion and exclusion conditions, so a product category can use a different structure without duplicating pages. The Popup Builder adds separate triggers and visitor rules, but it is only included from the Advanced Solo plan up, not on Essential. Template publication also requires its display conditions to be set.
