What Is Termly?

Termly is a web-based privacy compliance service for website owners. Its consent management platform starts with a cookie scan that finds and categorizes trackers, then shows a configurable consent banner, holds back scripts until visitors agree through Auto Blocker, and keeps consent logs. Google Consent Mode v2 can be switched on from the dashboard, and IAB TCF 2.3 support lets ad-funded publishers pass consent choices to ad vendors. A second toolset generates legal documents, including privacy policies, terms and conditions, cookie policies, EULAs, an Impressum, disclaimers, return and shipping policies, and accessibility statements, which can be embedded as HTML. Termly says it covers more than 25 privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA. Installation works through a code snippet, the WordPress plugin or Google Tag Manager, and a DSAR form can be embedded for data requests. Plans run from Free and Starter to Pro+ and an Agency tier for multi-domain management.

Best for: Small business websites that need a cookie banner, consent records and generated legal policies managed from one dashboard.

Termly connects policy generation with its consent manager, so the website operator can maintain legal-document drafts and cookie controls in the same account. Cookie scanning informs the categories displayed to visitors, but site owners must review the detected technologies and ensure newly added scripts follow their consent configuration. The service is oriented toward public-facing site compliance; enterprise data inventory is outside its scope.
