#3 of 7 in Website Monitoring by Overall Score

What Is Better Stack?

Better Stack combines uptime monitoring with on-call incident response, status pages, logs, metrics, tracing, and error tracking. Its monitors can run Playwright browser transactions and capture screenshots when checks fail, while incidents can use escalation rules and telemetry context; the platform also exposes APIs and an MCP server for automation and AI-assisted investigation.

Best for: Engineering and SRE teams that want monitoring, on-call response, telemetry, and customer-facing status communication in one service.

Better Stack treats an outage as an incident record that progresses through started, acknowledged and resolved states. Acknowledgement stops the escalation sequence, while incidents can also be submitted by colleagues through a shareable secret link when monitoring misses a problem such as a payment outage. The incident record can retain screenshots, notes and a postmortem.
