What Is Miro?
Miro is an online whiteboard where teams run workshops, map processes and plan work on an infinite canvas using sticky notes, diagrams, tables, timelines and kanbans. Miro AI generates diagrams (including Mermaid), wireframes, docs and clickable prototypes from prompts. Sidekicks are AI agents that work directly on the board, and Flows chain several AI steps into a repeatable team workflow. Voting, timers and interactive presentations support live facilitation. Miro connects to more than 250 tools; its Atlassian integration adds Jira dependency views and capacity planning, and boards can be embedded in Confluence, Microsoft Teams and Zoom. It runs in the browser, as Windows and macOS desktop apps, and on iOS and Android. The Free plan allows three editable boards, Starter removes that limit, Business adds two-way integrations, SSO and AI workflows, and Enterprise adds SCIM, audit logs and data hosting in the EU, US, Australia or Japan.
Best for: Product, design and marketing teams that run collaborative workshops and planning sessions and want AI to turn board content into diagrams, docs or prototypes.
Miro's infinite board can house multiple workshop activities and artifacts, instead of constraining collaborators to a single presentation frame. Templates and diagramming tools help teams structure discussions, but persistent boards need naming and access conventions to remain navigable. A board can capture decisions; delivery ownership still requires agreement on how action items move into the team's task system.
