What Is Keyword Tool?
Keyword Tool generates long-tail keyword ideas by adding letters and numbers before and after a seed term and collecting the autocomplete suggestions that come back. Besides Google, it pulls ideas from YouTube, Bing, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, the App Store, Play Store, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, X, Perplexity, Naver and Google Trends. A Pro subscription adds search volume, cost per click, competition, top-of-page bid ranges, device breakdowns and historical trends. Google and Bing volumes come from those companies' own keyword planners, while figures for the other platforms are estimates. Bulk search volume accepts up to 1,000 keywords per request, and Analyze Competitors returns keywords associated with a given URL on Google. The same subscription covers the web interface, a REST API and an MCP server that lets assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor query the data. Coverage spans more than 190 Google country domains.
Best for: SEO, PPC and content teams researching keywords across Google as well as marketplaces, video and social platforms.
Keyword Tool builds suggestions from search autocomplete, so it does not rely only on a traditional keyword database. Users can change the source platform, country and language before collecting phrases, which helps distinguish shopping vocabulary from video-search wording. The free interface exposes suggestions while richer volume and competition metrics are associated with paid access.
