#2 of 7 in Domain Marketplace Tools by Overall Score

What Is Namecheap?

Namecheap registers and transfers domains and automatically adds Domain Privacy, run by its provider Withheld for Privacy, to registrations, renewals and transfers on eligible extensions. Its standard DNS supports up to 800 records per domain, including ALIAS, CAA, wildcard and URL redirect records. PremiumDNS is a separate subscription with anycast servers, DDoS protection, DNSSEC support and a 100% DNS uptime guarantee, and it also works for domains registered elsewhere. Owners can list domains for sale through its marketplace. For hosting, EasyWP is managed WordPress with its own dashboard in place of cPanel, built-in caching, automatic core updates, SFTP and phpMyAdmin access, and an included SSL certificate and CDN, while VPS and dedicated servers cover heavier needs. Developers and resellers get an API with a separate sandbox, and accounts can be managed on the web or in iOS and Android apps.

Best for: Freelancers and small businesses that want domains, DNS, privacy and a simple WordPress site handled by one registrar.

Namecheap's price table shows registration, renewal and transfer as separate columns, avoiding the assumption that a promotional first year repeats indefinitely. Domain privacy applies to supported extensions, and eligibility and related services vary by TLD. Buyers should select their intended extension and registration duration before judging cost instead of treating a single advertised promotional name as representative.
