What Is Salesforce Sales Cloud?

Salesforce Sales Cloud is the sales CRM on the Salesforce platform, used to manage leads, accounts, contacts and opportunities through configurable stages and approval processes. Flow Builder automates routine steps, with a cap of five flows on the Free and Starter suites and no cap from Pro Suite upward. Forecasting starts at Pro Suite and rolls numbers up by rep, team or region using categories such as pipeline, best case and commit. Pipeline inspection, which surfaces weekly deal changes and at-risk opportunities, begins at the Core edition, and Core and higher include a partial sandbox for testing configuration changes. Revenue Intelligence, included in some editions and an add-on in others, adds forecast insights, a Commit Calculator for what-if scenarios and a Sales Rep Command Center. Agentforce for Sales comes with Advanced and Max and is a separate purchase below them. Sales Cloud runs in the browser and on iOS and Android, with API access and connections to Slack, Tableau and MuleSoft.

Best for: Sales organizations with defined stages, approvals and forecast reviews that need a CRM they can configure and extend as their process grows.

Sales Cloud uses a customizable data model that can represent complex account relationships and sales stages beyond a linear pipeline. Successful deployments typically require decisions about object permissions, integrations and reporting ownership; the administrative overhead is materially different from a small team's out-of-the-box deal board.
