What Is Zapier?
Zapier is a web-based automation platform that links business apps through workflows called Zaps, where an event in one app triggers actions in others. Paid plans add multi-step Zaps, Paths for branching, filters, webhooks and premium app connectors, and they shorten how often triggers are checked, from every 15 minutes on the free plan to two minutes on Professional and one minute on Team. Around the Zaps sit Zapier Tables for storing workflow data, Zapier Forms (the product formerly called Interfaces) for AI-assisted forms that start automations, chatbots, and Zapier Agents, AI teammates that act across connected apps using instructions and company knowledge. Zapier says it connects to more than 9,000 apps. The Team plan adds shared workspaces, up to 25 users and SAML SSO, while Enterprise sets custom limits. The free plan runs two-step Zaps with 100 tasks a month, and a 14-day Professional trial is available.
Best for: Small and mid-sized teams that want to connect SaaS apps without developers, from simple alerts to branching workflows.
Zapier offers several building surfaces beyond Zaps, including Tables for workflow data and Interfaces for user-facing forms and pages. Users can start from an existing app integration or a template, but complex scenarios still require checking which actions and premium connectors are available on their plan.
