What Is ClickUp?
ClickUp is a work management platform that organizes tasks in a hierarchy of Spaces, Folders and Lists and displays them as List, Board, Calendar, Gantt, Table, Timeline, Workload or Mind Map views. Beyond tasks it includes Docs and wikis, Whiteboards, Chat, forms, dashboards, goals, sprints and native time tracking with timesheets. Automations run on a monthly execution allowance that rises by plan, from 100 on Free Forever to 250,000 on Enterprise. ClickUp Brain, the AI layer, answers questions across tasks and docs, and the Brain AI and Everything AI add-ons extend it with premium models, an AI notetaker and Super Agents. ClickUp runs in the browser, as desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, on iOS and Android, and through Chrome and Outlook extensions. Its REST API supports personal tokens, OAuth apps and webhooks, and ClickUp documents an MCP server. Native integrations include Google Drive, GitHub, Salesforce, Zapier and Make.
Best for: Marketing and cross-functional teams that want tasks, documents, chat and reporting in one workspace with many ways to view the same work.
ClickUp arranges work through workspaces, spaces, folders and lists, with views and custom fields layered onto the same tasks. That flexibility permits different departments to operate differently, but it also makes initial information architecture consequential. Teams should decide where a task belongs and which statuses are shared before enabling numerous dashboards and automations.
